Actually im with google on this one, That just set a dangerous precedent, Android is no different to any other OS and free as well, So is MS and Apple next? Also you don’t have to use the supplied apps….
I read elsewhere that this is small fry for Alphabet. And in my opinion of what I read elsewhere, as usual, Google, a US company ad exploitative, are in the wrong.
I wonder how the EU would react if Google pulled the pin on their access to all services for the 16 days it would take Google to typically make that amount of money.
Deryk Robosson well it would be stupid of Google to shoot itself in the foot. Most of Google’s money comes from advertising. So guess who will lose out?
Deryk Robosson advertisers would just advertise elsewhere. But we’re looking at advertisers and Google losing out. Not the potential buyers or readers.
And in fact advertisers would quickly move their ad to another website.
Do you agree with the verdict, John? It seems unfair to me.

Add me as wanting to hear your reasoning here, John.
Don’t presuppose that I’m hostile! Genuinely interested in how you read this.

I don’t recall Apple being slammed with a fine line this when iOS was the most dominant mobile os and things like iTunes practically owned the market.

I guess Google can stop licensing Android for sale in the EU, and everyone will be happy, right?
