I am hoping at some point, all computer code will be indistinguishable from prose, or at the very least the kind of natural language you typically find in research papers.
I have found on more than one occasion that, when you have to ask somebody exactly, exactly, exactly what they want to happen, they get flustered to discover that they hadn’t exactly decided what they wanted to happen. I am not as tactful as some, but I at least try to keep the person from being too embarrassed; computers are even less tactful than I. They do exactly what you asked, and need to be told exactly what you want to happen. It has been several decades since translating the exact specs into computer code was the hard part of programming (though I’m sure it once was).
