Google’s AI Can Now Make Bookings by Phone.
Google’s new ‘Duplex’ AI has just been demoed at Google’s developer conference. It can book a table or a haircut over the phone and pass as a human complete with natural sounding ums and ahs. Some audio of bookings is in the link below. The AI sounds clearer and, strangely, more natural than any of the real people on the other end of the line!
When the feature rolls out the software will tell the person on the other end he or she is talking to a digital assistant.
Seriously.
