I still think solar roads are not very practical, for example, and never will be. I can’t tell about this one, it could be an elegant solution, but may not work better than the existing designs. But they aren’t making fantastic claims.
It would still make more sense to have the collectors on poles above the road, not inefficiently pointing straight up not making the road itself so overly expensive. Heaters are a completely separate issue.
But if certain people still find them uglier than coal fired power stations, I guess we can’t have them.

We have a huge number of wind turbines here where I live.
Every time they turn them on, the wind blows. Sometimes, a lot.
