  1. I notice a distinct lack of comment on whether the BD IP portfolio included in the sale is complete – I suspected from the beginning Google wasn’t interested in robot dogs so much as some of the algorithms that make them possible. Not surprising if they divest after sucking the marrow out.

  2. Simple business rule: if it sounds exciting (e.g. robots, self-driving cars, VR), don’t go there: big crowds, stupid-high valuations, low revenue, and unrealistic expectations.

    In 1998, there was nothing cool-sounding about a new, adaptive page-ranking algorithm: hence, Google.
