This may very well explain the shift to Kotlin as the new language choice for Android by Google.

Google’s internal codebase is mainly Java I think. But they’ve also got ART (Android Runtime). I don’t think the JDK is necessary for Google.

Awesome. My research into design-enhanced programming languages led me to treat languages with higher percentages of the program specification devoted to reserved keywords in relation to programmer named symbols as ‘damage’ that needed to be routed around 😉
